AW-424 All Weather Speaker
System
Utilizing tough,
environmentally-resistant materials and state-of-the-art
acoustic design, the AW-424 lets you take Atlantic’s
famous sound outdoors.
The advanced design of these speakers
deliver detailed, articulate sound, for a dramatic listening
experience. Each speaker contains two GLH (Graphite Loaded
Homopolymer) 4 ½-inch (115mm) woofers, and an advanced
1” (25mm) ferrofluid-cooled, damped soft dome tweeter
with a powerful neodymium magnet structure. The drivers are
mounted in an acoustically inert, heavily-reinforced
enclosure made from mineral-filled polypropylene. This is a
far more neutral, less “ringy” material than is
typically used with conventional outdoor speakers, and it
contributes to the AW-424’s amazingly musical
sound.
Additionally, the
woofer-tweeter-woofer arrangement controls the
speaker’s dispersion, assuring that its sound is
directed at the prime outdoor listening area, instead of
being wasted by scattering in all directions. Best of all,
the sound is genuine Atlantic—detailed, powerful, and
lifelike.
All the component parts of the AW-424
have been designed for durability under harsh conditions: UV
and impact resistant cabinets, aluminum powder-coated
grilles and mounting brackets, and gold-plated speaker
terminals.
The clever, yet simple design of the
AW-424’s mounting bracket makes installation in a
variety of locations a breeze. The speakers can be mounted
vertically or horizontally on exteriors house walls, deck
corner posts, or other secure surface. The bracket has
multiple holes to facilitate a variety of mounting
hardware.
The bracket itself allows the speaker
to be rotated by more than 220 degrees, for the ultimate in
placement flexibility.
The speaker cabinet and grille can
also be painted to perfectly blend in with their
surroundings.

Atlantic Technology has introduced
its first indoor/outdoor speaker, the AW-424. The new
speaker brings a fresh approach to solving the problems
associated with conventional outdoor speakers. It utilizes
dual 4 1/2-inch woofers flanking a special weather-resistant
version of Atlantic's highly-regarded 1-inch soft dome
tweeter for the responsiveness and high power handling
required for outdoor speakers. The AW-424 is designed for
vertical or horizontal mounting. Its woofer-tweeter-woofer
configuration provides control over the speaker's
dispersion, allowing the sound to be focused on a specific
listening area.
