Outlaw
Audio and Dolby Laboratories at the 2001 New York City Hi-Fi
Expo
At the recent New York
City Hi-Fi Expo (May 11-13) -- one of the few 'Hi-Fi Events'
of Spring 2001 -- Dolby Laboratories chose Outlaw Audio to
be their exhibit partner -- and relied on the Outlaw 1050
Home Theater 6.1 Channel Receiver to demonstrate
DVD-Audio
Here were the comments of
one Expo visitor (Patrick R. Sklenar):
"Besides the fact that
the pre/pro in the room was a prototype, one of the main
reasons they weren't actually running it this weekend was
that they were showing off just what 65w per channel can
sound like.
The look on some peoples
faces when they came out of that room was priceless. During
the demo's that I actually watched, I saw several people's
jaw literally drop open when Brent Butterworth (Dolby's
Director of Consumer Technology Marketing.) finished up his
presentation with the seemingly off-handed comment that
--
'Oh, and
by the way, what you've just heard was all driven by that
six channel, 65w per channel, receiver there in the back of
the room.'"
